Inviting players to a match — Apoing users and external guests

With Apoing's Apúntate (Join Match) system, you can create matches or join ones organised by other members of your community — or even organise matches with people who are not on Apoing. This guide explains how to invite external players, how team assignment works, and how those matches appear in your history and ranking.

Creating a match and inviting players

Matches within your community

From the Apúntate section in the menu, tap "Create match". You can choose the sport, level, gender, and number of players. If you have a court reservation, you can link it to the match so that everyone can see the court and time automatically.

Free matches (no community required)

If you want to organise a match with friends without needing an Apoing community, you can create a free match. These matches do not require a court reservation or membership of any facility. Points earned in free matches count only towards your personal circle ranking.

Inviting Apoing users

When creating or editing a match, you can search for any Apoing user by name or code and send them an invitation. The invitee will receive a push notification and can accept or decline from the app.

Inviting players without an Apoing account

Enter the email address of the person you want to invite. Apoing will send them an email with all the match details and a direct link (magic link) to accept the invitation, confirm the result, and view their ranking — no registration required.

The email will also include a recommendation to register so they can access their full history in the future. If they ever sign up with that same email address, all their previous matches and points will be automatically linked to their new account.

Team assignment (Team A and Team B)

In doubles sports such as padel, participants are divided into Team A and Team B. This assignment determines who plays with whom and is essential for calculating ranking points correctly.

  • The match creator can assign teams when creating the match.
  • If the assignment is left open, any participant can propose it before the match.
  • Team assignment is required before a result can be submitted.

Example for a padel match (4 players): Team A = Ana and Juan / Team B = María and Pedro.

Accepting or declining an invitation

When you receive a match invitation:

  • If you have an Apoing account: you will receive a push notification. Go to "My matches" to see pending invitations with full match details.
  • If you are an external player: you will receive an email with a link. Clicking it shows the match details and lets you accept or decline directly from your browser, no login needed.

Tracking your matches

All matches you participate in — within or outside a community, with Apoing users or external players — appear in your "My matches" section. Once a match has ended, you can submit the result and see the points you earned.
