Polls in Apoing — How to create and manage them

Apoing lets you create polls in your community to easily gauge member opinions — no in-person meetings required.

Who can create polls?

Only users with the Administrator role or "Polls" permissions can create polls. You'll find the option under: Communities I manage → Options → Polls.

Creating a poll

When creating a poll, you'll need to fill in the following fields:

  • Title: Displayed as the poll's heading.
  • Description: Optional text to explain the purpose of the poll.
  • Start date / End date: The period during which members can vote.
  • Who can vote?:
    • Any community member (1 member = 1 vote)
    • One vote per booking code (users with the same code can only cast one vote)
  • Always show results: Members see live vote counts in real time.
  • Show results after voting: Members only see results after they've voted.
  • Publish results when finished: When the poll ends, results are automatically posted to the community's private feed.
  • Allow editing vote: Members can change their vote while the poll is still active.
  • Anonymous: Names and booking codes of voters are hidden — only the tally is shown.

Finally, add your answer options. You can reorder them by dragging with the drag handle icon. There's no limit on the number of options.

Voting

Active polls appear on the community's private feed. Eligible members will see the available options and can cast their vote.

Results

If the "Publish results when finished" option was enabled, once the poll ends a post will automatically appear on the private feed with the results.
